|---|---|---|---|
The NanoCytex Sorting Column features a syringe-like design. It is filled with uniform hydrophilic-coated iron microspheres with ample inter-sphere gaps to sustain flow rate and protect cells.
The column has no inherent magnetism. Once placed on a magnetic rack, the embedded iron microspheres are magnetized, boosting the effective magnetic field roughly 10,000 times.
Only a low quantity of conjugated magnetic beads is needed for cell capture, so bead removal is unnecessary for downstream experiments.
Target cells labelled with magnetic beads can be recovered using the supplied plunger after taking the column off the magnetic stand.

Figure. Sorting results of Rebeads sorting column
Before sorting, the purity of CD4⁺ cells in human PBMCs was 35.1%. After sorting, the purity of CD3⁺ cells reached 97.7%.
