Magnetic Bead-based Soil Genomic DNA Extraction Kit

DNA extracted from soil represents the total DNA of microorganisms, animal and plant residues. Humic substances share similar properties with DNA and are easily co-purified during DNA isolation. It is extremely difficult to remove humic acid and other inhibitory substances by traditional extraction methods. These contaminants can inhibit PCR, restriction enzyme digestion and other downstream experiments. Therefore, thorough removal of humic inhibitors is critical for successful soil DNA extraction.

Targeting the characteristics of humic substances, this kit adopts high-efficiency humic acid adsorbent combined with silica magnetic bead nucleic acid binding technology. Compared with traditional column-based methods, it delivers significantly higher purity and supports high-throughput automated extraction.

This kit is applicable to the extraction of microbial genomic DNA from 0.25–0.4 g soil samples (including forest soil, grassland soil, sediment, etc.). The purified DNA can be directly used for PCR analysis.

   Note: Elution volume: 100 μL; Gel loading volume: 2 μL.

Gel electrophoresis results show clear and bright DNA bands with no non-specific bands or tailing.

Do not freeze magnetic beads. Fully mix the magnetic bead suspension before use.

Check Buffer SDS and Buffer BD for precipitation before each use. If sediment appears, dissolve completely in a 55 ℃ water bath.

Before first use of a new kit, add absolute ethanol to the washing concentrate as specified on the reagent label for dilution and standby use.
